Pyrocumulus

Posted by Picasa The mechanism by which clouds originate is fairly simple; air is cooled until its water vapor content condenses into liquid droplets. This cooling is often caused by forcing the air to rise. When the upward motion of the air is caused by the heat of a fire, such as seen here, the cloud that forms is technically called a pyrocumulus. These clouds are made up of not only water droplets but also solid smoke particles. In the descent towards Paris Orly in A319 CS-TTO.
